Chinese apps are banned in India. Ministry of Information Technology announced a vital decision of banning the 59 Chinese apps. The most reason is for the country’s privacy concerns.

The legal basis for India’s action is:

The Banned 59 Chinese apps are posing threat to the users of our Country. It’s causing a menace to the protection and privacy of the users in our Country. The Ministry of Information Technology said that “ upon receiving of recent credible inputs that such apps pose threat to sovereignty and integrity of India, The government of India has decided to disallow the usage of certain apps, Which are used in mobile and non-mobile Internet-enabled devices.

This act will safeguard the lives of the crores of individuals in India. This action prevails for the sovereignty of the country. The banned apps include TikTok, UC Browser, Beauty plus, Cam Scanner, Beauty plus, etc…. Under section 69A of the Information Technology Act, The Ministry of Information Technology took the decision. Among the banned apps TikTok was far from both Google play store and therefore the App store. And no longer other apps are aloof from the app stores. People that are using the apps currently should also remove the apps from the devices.

‘Welcome Move’

Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and domestic social media app ShareChat welcomed the move. “This huge unprecedented step will go a protracted way in strengthening the ‘Boycott China’ campaign of CAIT. Boycott China movement is now well and truly a national reality and 7 crore traders of India stands in solidarity with the Union Government,” CAIT administrator Praveen Khandelwal said in an exceeding statement.

“This step can persuade be a golden moment in Indian startup journey with ‘Made in India’ apps getting a rare opportunity to onboard those users and supply them with these services. Indian technology ecosystem has come a protracted way in the last 5-6 years and is at par with the capabilities of the other startup ecosystem within the world. We welcome this move and that we hope Indians will choose apps which are made in India, for India,” said Piyush, CEO, and founder, Rooter, Delhi-based gaming and Sports Live app.

Indian intelligence agencies had been trying to limit the mobile applications on the basis that the apps were designed to extract data which may indeed lead to park them outside the Country.
